Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

row1

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive light-based technology used in dermatology and aesthetic medicine to address various skin conditions and concerns. Unlike lasers, which use a single, focused wavelength of light, IPL emits a broad spectrum of light that can target multiple skin issues simultaneously.

IPL Treats

Pigmented Lesions:

  • Sunspots, freckles, and age spots caused by excess melanin.

• Vascular Lesions:

  • Spider veins, rosacea, and broken capillaries.

• Acne and Scarring:

  • Reduces active acne and minimizes the appearance of scars.

• Skin Rejuvenation:

  • Improves overall skin tone, texture, and elasticity.

How does IPL work?

Intense Pulsed Light works by

1. Light Emission:

IPL devices emit pulses of light that penetrate the skin. The light energy is absorbed by specific pigments (like melanin) or structures (like hemoglobin in blood vessels).

2. Conversion to Heat:

The absorbed light converts to heat, which either destroys or alters the targeted cells without damaging surrounding tissue.

3. Body’s Natural Healing:

The body removes the damaged cells naturally over time, leading to improved skin appearance.

What to Expect During IPL Treatment

Before the treatment, we provide a thorough consultation to understand the patient’s concerns and expectations. A cooling gel is applied, to minimize discomfort and protect the skin.  A combination of treatment settings specifically tailored to your skin type and degree of rejuvenation will be used. The IPL device delivers flashes of light to the treatment area.

Sessions usually take 20-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

After treatment, most clients experience redness and mild swelling. A post-treatment ointment is applied to the treated area, to prevent scabs from forming. Downtime is minimal, typically lasting for about 5 days for the average client.

Results

Skin Rejuvenation:

  • Reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Improved skin tone and texture.
